We spent our 4th of July at a swimming/BBQ party with some friends and ended the day with a BBQ and fireworks with my family. We had the best firework show right across the street from our house!
This year, Brad's family reunion was at Yellowstone. It was so much fun to be with everyone again and see all the new babies! We also had the chance to hike a little bit and go white-water rafting. I am so blessed to have such great in-laws and such a big extended family. We always have so much fun together and I always come away wanting to improve myself and strive to better reach my potential. We took loads and loads of pictures of all the cool things we saw there - here are a few and some fun snapshots that kept us entertained throughout the trip.
We made the mistake of deciding we couldn't go without Carter for an evening, yet. So we took him with us when we went out to dinner for our anniversary. BIG MISTAKE. Carter is a pretty easy baby, but it was that night that he decided he didn't like sitting, he didn't like standing, and he didn't like being inside. So our dinner went as follows: Carter immediately starts crying when we are seated. Brad takes him outside so we don't disturb anyone else. I order my dinner, Brad comes back in and orders his food, then I take Carter out. Brad enjoys some of our appetizer, I come in and he goes out with him. Our food comes, I eat a couple bites in hopes that Brad has gotten Carter to fall asleep. He comes back in with Carter screaming. We decide to get our food to go and headed home. We ate our dinner cold, put Carter to bed and enjoyed watching a movie. It was quite the memorable night. We learned that we will be just fine to leave him home to enjoy an evening together next year, but are still grateful beyond words for little Carter man in our lives.
Carter's 4 month update:
Carter sleeps anywhere between 10 & 12 hours every night - and now in is own room! I think it was harder for me to adjust to than him - I had to break the habit of making sure he was breathing pretty much every hour. He is taking a good morning nap, then cat naps throughout the afternoon. He is slowly transitioning to regular formula - so far so good! He eats 6-8 oz. every 3 hours - another growth spurt - and we are hoping to start oatmeal soon! He loves to watch us eat and suck on watermelon. He also loved his first taste of popsicle. He has discovered his feet and loves to grab his toes when he plays on the floor. He is making new noises and it REALLY loud :) He has also found his laugh! It is the most contagious thing ever and not one can make him laugh like his daddy. He totally rocked the 9 hour drive to Montana. He loves to blow bubble while he babbles and loves to chat in his crib when he wakes up.
